The Summary

Marine fisheries contribute more to the world's supply of protein than beef, poultry or any other animal source. Within the next century, mankind may witness the exhaustion of the ocean's natural ability to satisfy humanity's growing demand for food from the seas.

GMIT's sea farming technologies, when fully developed, could result in the ability to restock the natural marine environment with fast growing farm-reared Gulf species and thus reduce some of the pressure on wild stocks for human food production and with further research, cold water species as well.
